Filming Equipment!

Sup peeps?  Glittabomb FeFe here, and today i'm going to be telling you guys all about my filming equipment.  This post is not meant to be bragging at all--- i'm trying to show you guys that you don't need to spend a ton of money to have great videos!

First of all, I use a Canon Rebel T3 for filming.  This is a great camera, and it is older and therefore cheaper.  I have never had any problems with it, and i definitely recommend it!  At the moment, you can pick one up for less than $300!  (it may not seem like it, but that is a great price for this camera.  Other newer versions go for way more than that, and I think that this one is perfectly capable of filling the needs of a stop motion-er.)

Next, my tripod is a Dolica.  It has legs that can bend way down to the floor with no restraint, and you can get right down to the level of your American Girl doll, clay figure, etc.!  It is nice, but definitely not essential.  For a couple years, I literally taped a stack of books to the ground and taped my camera on top... this was a surprisingly perfect and very adjustable makeshift tripod!

Now, let's talk about lighting.  If you want, you can buy some nice lighting online for a very reasonable price.  I think that this could be a good way to go depending on your preferences, but I prefer to just use desk lamps.  I have a couple normal, bendable lamps, and a few ones that can clip on to things.  I typically use 2+ lights to achieve nice lighting, and that works for me!  But do you, boo.

Finally, sets are an essential part of filming.  Here, i'm going to focus on American Girl productions.  Instead of having a big, permanent wooden dollhouse, I made some walls from cardboard.  Essentially, they are giant pieces of cardboard painted to look like walls.  I punched holes in the corners so I can suspend them from the wall with string... this means that I can make the set as big or as small as I like it!  I much prefer this method, and it is also a much cheaper way to go.  If you take a look at my Instagram (@glittabomb_fefe), you can find a post a few years back of me painting the walls.

Got any questions?  Comment below!  I hope this helped some of you!!!

How I Edit My Stop Motion Animation Videos!

Hi guys!!!!!!!
Glittabomb FeFe here, and today i'm going to tell you how I edit my stop motion animation videos!

So first of all, I film with a Canon Rebel T3.  I love that camera and recommend it to everyone!!!  A problem I usually face with filming is memory.  I typically use at least one 16 GB card, but remember my movie Life in Black and White?  For that one, I used a 32 GB, 16 GB, and like 3 4GB cards.

It takes a while, but I upload all of the pictures onto iPhoto.  The computer I use is the 2007 iMac.  It's old but very trusty, and I have many stories about it.  For example, I have killed the hard drive at least twice.  Oops!  However, it still works like a charm.

After that, I transfer the photos from iPhoto to iStopMotion.  Believe me, I have looked far and wide for a different program because I didn't want to pay for it, but this is the best one.  Splurge and get it!  iStop Motion gathers up all the photos and compresses them into one video file.  There are other things you can use the program for, but I have not ventured that far yet.

I export to video file to iMovie or Final Cut Pro and edit from there!  I think I have iMovie '13 or '14, and Final Cut Pro 7.  Lately, I have been using iMovie because my Final Cut Pro has been having some major technical errors.  It may not seem like it, but you can do a lot with iMovie!  Just be creative!  I make titles, overlays, and thumbnails with PicMonkey, and record voiceovers with the basic iPhone recording app.

Got any questions?  Just comment and I will reply!  I hope this helps some of you out!!!

CinderBot

Sup peeps????
As promised, this post is all about my latest stop motion animation movie!  It is called CinderBot!  First of all, I am going to provide a link so that you can watch the movie!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddIklzBfavw

Movie Summary:
Rebecca builds a robot named CinderBot who helps her learn that with a little help, you can do it all!

This movie was also intended to inspire girls to get involved with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) like Rebecca!  #ilooklikeanengineer #womeninstem

I started CinderBot waaaaayyyy back in March!  It was a long process, but the end result showed me that it was worth it.  I am SO happy that you guys have been enjoying the movie as much as I did, and thank you so much for the immediate positive feedback.  In just one day, I reached about 60-70 views, and 15+ comments on YouTube, Instagram, etc.  This definitely broke the record for most feedback in a day!  Again, thank you all so much!
I might even post some more behind-the-scenes CinderBot tidbits, so stay tuned!!!

How to Make a Boring Bedroom CUTE!!! Featuring Easy and Cheap DIY Projects!

LONG TIME NO SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This year was great!  I finished my Freshman year of high school last Friday!  This summer, I have many adventures planned and I hope to blog lots (look for blog posts every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday).  I hope to post YouTube videos every Friday and maybe Tuesday too if I have time.  Without further adieu, let's get on to the blog post!!!

So you have a bedroom, but it needs a little *pizazz*.  I hope this blog post can give you some ideas to GLITTAFY your bedroom!
Finished product!
This is a close up of my bedspread.  You can buy bedspreads at lots of stores, but you can also make one!

One super cool thing you can do to add some interest to a boring room is add some fairy lights!  Mine are LED Christmas lights.  Make sure your lights are LED or else they will get HOT!!!
One thing I absolutely love right now are photo lines!  These can really dress up your room AND remind you of some of your favorite moments!  I filmed a DIY video on how to make this one--- it should be up on Friday!
For some reason, there is a sink in my room (lol).  If you have an eyesore that you need covered up, take some fabric and superglue or velcro it around it!

If you have an awkward sink or something else that needs to be filled to be hidden, you can make lots of flowers out of tissue paper and fill the sink with them!  I'm still working on mine, and I plan to fill the sink with flowers until the faucets are covered.

I hope your bedrooms have been GLITIFFIED!  See you guys on Saturday!!!
